Description
The Octopus Soil Moisture Sensor Brick accurately measures the moisture level in surrounding soil. This simple yet reliable sensor is ideal for monitoring urban gardens or potted plants, making it an essential tool for smart gardening.
It operates by passing a small current through two metal probes into the soil, then measuring the resulting electrical resistance to determine moisture content. Wet soil conducts electricity more efficiently (lower resistance), while dry soil has higher resistance.
Perfect for reminding you to water indoor plants or tracking garden soil conditions, it seamlessly integrates with Arduino platforms. Pair it with the Freaduino Sensor Shield or use our pre-wired Octopus Brick interface on the Freaduino UNO for quick setup.
